Your RoleThe Cisco VOIP UC VOICE Engineer will maintain, design and implement Cisco UC applications, gateways, SIP cube elements, voice trunks, other UC and Telepresence infrastructures of the firm. Core responsibilities of this role will also include troubleshooting and analysis of all voice and video components including software, phones, gateways, codecs and any other voice related devices. You will also be charged with monitoring and controlling performance and status of all voice systems and utilize software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose problems affecting AQR's voice network. Ideal candidates will possess a minimum 5 years of hands-on Voip SIP engineering and troubleshooting experience, and strong computer science or telecommunications background. Other essential skills, experience, and responsibilities include: Understanding of Cisco Unified Communications systems, including the design, configuration, and tuning of Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Emergency Responder, Cisco Telepresence system Experience Managing SIP CUBE gateways, Cisco SIP Phones, Cisco voice gateways, external trunks over IP, PRI circuits, analog gateways Experience managing Cisco WEBEX cloud conferencing system Experience working with packet captures utilizing tools such as RTMT / Wireshark. Experience working with CISCO TAC technical vendor support Experience with VMware ESX 6.x & 5.x, ESXi virtualization technology, ability to build proof of concept environments Experience working with Cisco UCS blade systems Experience pulling call logs, trace files, working with SIP carriers on call problems Identify voice issues and risks, and develop mitigation plans Architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate voice system focused tools and services Develop and interpret voice and video policies and procedures Develop and deliver training materials Evaluate and recommend new and emerging voice SIP products and technologies Participate in tier 2 and tier 3 voice operations support Participate in network, voice, video incident handling Proven extensive engineering documentation skills using Visio, downloading stencils, focus on detail Manage daily operational processes for all voice, conference and video systems, follow change control process Maintain 24x7x365 coverage and support for voice, conference and video systems Define, plan, and coordinate UC projects Contribute to long term UC design strategy and roadmap, core voice and video architecture, establishment of engineering standards and best practice guides What You'll Bring 5+ years' experience designing, building and maintaining preferably financial enterprise Unified Communications environments BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent field experience Highly technical hands-on engineer with ability to troubleshoot all diverse hardware platforms and technical relationships. CCVP preferred. Team and detail oriented, open and collaborative work ethic with a well-developed sense of ownership and responsibility, flexible, adaptable and easy to work with.
