Reporting to the Senior Director Finance Business Partner for the Chief Transformation Office and Corporate Expense Allocations, the Treasury Operations Director will set strategic direction for both the Treasury Cash Desk and Operational Bank Relationship teams and cross-organizational interactions with majority-owned Alliance Bernstein. Individual will manage and direct a variety of complex processes ensuring adequate controls and compliance are maintained within various management and external reporting requirements and set team goals and directives to ensure day-to-day execution of operational tasks are completed with proper authorization. Director will be key point of contact for strategic partnering and relationship management of bank and business clients with responsibility to understand key business drivers and assist in the design, control and improvement opportunities for the business partner areas.Key responsibilities include responsibility for directing execution of daily activities within a controlled environment meeting SOX 404 requirements, developing staff and implementing strategies to optimize operational efficiency, drive reduction in operational bank fees while enhancing workflow and Treasury Workstation automation opportunities. Cash objectives include driving efficient cash utilization of bank accounts aligned to Company objectives focusing on cash management, cash forecasting/modeling, credit facility management, and cash desk activities. Goals of the position include maximizing yield, minimizing risk, reducing bank fees and evaluating investment alternatives across a multiple-company structure with competing priorities. Key Activities: Maintains a broad understanding of the industry and related financial key performance indicators for treasury related services advising senior management and business partners of opportunities and risks. Support capital planning and liquidity forecasting processeso Monitor and review daily cash position analysis to inform forecasting and execute trades at the direction of Corporate Finance o Provide input and prepare high-level cash forecasts highlighting activities with large impact on cash and liquidity. o Direct financial analysis to support business \"what if\" scenarios for decision making with focus on cash effectiveness, liquidity, and yield. o Researches and recommends new cash management services to management. o Conduct regular benchmark studies of banks and their services and partner with business line clients to understand their cash management needs and ensure we are fully optimizing banking services. Ensure the activities and performance of the Treasury Cash Desk Staff are efficient and controls adhered to. Coordinate daily review and approvals of cash activities performed by treasury staff including:o Reconciliation of account balances and review posted activity for accuracyo Approving manual outgoing wires, ACH transfers, and other funding activitieso Approving investment of excess cash in accordance with policies and procedureso Managing user security administrator activities for bank portal and treasury workstation related systemso Evaluating and approving processes to maintain segregation of customer-related funds from operating cash Oversee periodic reporting of key treasury-related key performance indicators and monthly dashboardso Review and approve account analysis statements regarding bank fees and earnings credit monthly. o Implement recommendations to reduce bank feeso Oversee month and year-end cash management related closing activities performed by treasury staff as necessaryo Prepare operational risk reports as necessary on bank performance. Report deficiencies to treasury management and support actions to avoid future performance issues as required. Hold strategic bank relationship performance reviews with key partner banks cultivating and maintaining strong working relationships with staff members, business line contacts, banking partners, and other service providers. Supervise bank account structure and strategy documents ensuring bank accounts meet cash management requirements Supervise bank account documentation, including operational contact lists for each bank and account keeping updated on a regular basis Advocate and engage in medium to large scale cross-functional strategic initiatives aimed to optimize workflow, treasury workstation and reporting activities. Act as Treasury Operations SOX process owner providing ongoing review of key treasury controls, processes, job aids and policy documents ensuring all are updated timely for changes. Coordinate internal and external audit support requests Provide coaching, performance feedback and evaluation on an ongoing formal and informal basis. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent work experience required. 5-10 years experience with management responsibility of a Corporate Treasury role. Industry and Treasury experience preferred. 5+ years of managerial experience. Series 99 or demonstrated ability to attain quickly upon being hired. CTP designation strongly preferred Strong knowledge of banking products, cash management, short-term investment markets, and debt (commercial paper) markets. Experience with liquidity management in a corporate environment including investment and borrowing activities Operating experience with online bank platforms and Treasury Management Systems (TMS) required. Ability to operate independently and confidently in a cross-functional coordination and leadership role while managing subordinates, preferably in a treasury department environment Strong collaborative process improvement, automation, simplification and standardization work style. Ability to prioritize, maintain effectiveness, manage multiple projects, and execute in a fast-paced and dynamic environment including excellent skills in working with other teams to plan, creatively problem-solve and influence / negotiate decisions and to collaborate to reach optimal solutions. Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills for senior management targeted audience.
