As the DevOps Engineer, you will be joining the Next Generation Access Network team dedicated to cutting edge initiatives related to vCMTS. You will help the team define operational and support requirements for new network related technologies and products, diagnosecomplex problems, and design long term fixes. This exciting opportunity allows you to work with engineering groups across the country to ensure proper understanding of all vCMTS initiatives.
Job Summary: Responsible for design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. Responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing production software issues. Development of monitoring solutions, performing software maintenance, and implementing solutions Handle configuration work in JSON format Assist with written reports and other technical documentation necessary to communicate ideas, concepts, and details necessary to accomplish specific goals Contribute to the definition of operational and support requirements for new network related technologies and products. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex DOCSIS 3.0 & 3.1 impairments. Perform operational guidance towards other members of the National vCMTS team
Requirements: Knowledge of Unix, Linux and Solaris operating systems Scripting experience (Python, Perl, Bash) Knowledge of or ability to learn software defined networks and cloud-based systems Ability to troubleshoot complex network related problems Experience automating the deployment of software using tools such as Puppet, Chef and Ansible Experience of Jenkins for continuous integration Ability to utilize and work with a large variety of open source technologies and tools Experience with systems and IT operations Data management skills with an emphasis in automation tools Experienced with revision control systems including branching and tagging strategies using Github Able to build strong relationships with QA and Software Engineers in an operational capacity to maintain continuous delivery of critical systems Experience provisioning and managing applications in both virtual and cloud infrastructures (AWS and Openstack preferred) Strong skill set in deployment and network operations, or systems admins who have a background in scripting and coding Container experience in Docker and Kubernetes Bachelor of Science or Applied Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, military and/or industrial Engineering experience.
