Job Description:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for assisting with the day to day operations and responsibilities of the Brown University payroll team. The payroll specialist will provide high quality customer service to all members of the Brown Community, including faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students. In conjunction with the Payroll Manager and Assist Payroll Manager major functions of this position include but are not limited to the following: Assist with researching and resolving employee payment discrepancies, Assist with payroll processing and on demand check requests, assist with wage attachments, assist with workday update testing, assist with the yearly escheatment processing and assist with maintaining payroll reports. This position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and the ability to provide high quality customer service.
Job Qualifications:
+ Associates degree in a business or finance field.
+ Excellent math skills
+ Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills
+ The ability to handle a number of tasks simultaneously in an environment where regular interruptions are normal.
+ The ability to work independently, prioritizing and organizing the workload to meet constant deadlines.
+ Excellent customer relation and communication skills.
+ Ability to work within a team structure and cross train within the Payroll Office.
+ This position requires a strong commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the Finance Division.
