Position Overview: The Director, Supply Chain Planning reporting to the Chief Supply Chain Officer, is responsible for all planning activities within the Supply Chain including commercial project planning, demand planning, supply planning, S&OP and inbound materials planning.The Director, Supply Chain Planning will lead the development of planning strategies and implement appropriate processes and tactical plans to effectively manage commercial projects, demand plans, manufacturing capacity, production plans, and inventory levels to fulfill sales demand, meet customer service metrics and optimize cost. Leading the materials planning team, the Director, Supply Chain Planning will also be responsible for the efficient flow of materials into manufacturing and co-manufacturing. Job Responsibilities: Develop strategies and plans to deliver customer service performance while optimizing cost Lead the development and execution of project plans in support of commercial initiatives Lead the annual and monthly development of demand and supply plans through the demand planning, supply planning and S&OP processes. Collaborate with the Sales, Marketing and Finance to assure consistent development and alignment of all demand and supply plans, lead monthly director and executive S&OP meetings Lead the development and optimization of long term and annual capacity and inventory plans consistent with expected demand and customer service levels. Analyze and update capacity and inventory plans monthly based on demand and output changes, and changes in planned customer service levels. Lead supply reviews monthly with the supply chain leadership team to gain alignment to plans, manage supply and service risks, and to resolve any supply and demand imbalances. Ensure effective translation of supply plans to master production plans to match customer demand (orders and forecast) with available resources while achieving inventory and cost objectives. Ensure all materials supplies flow into manufacturing from strategic sourcing are timely and cost effective and meet planned production schedules Collaborate with Customer Operations in the Available to Promise process to manage day to day customer service level needs while balancing service and the integrity of the master production plan. Regularly provide updates and align with Customer Operations and Logistics on issues related to: out of stocks, service issues, supplier issues, production schedule adherence, order issues, inventory metrics, and other related issues. Ensure all enterprise planning systems and master data are maintained Directly responsible for the development, measurement and continuous improvement of the following in metrics; forecast error and bias, production plan adherence, working capital (inventory to plan), customer service level, and distressed, aging and obsolete inventory. Job Requirements: Excellent cross functional leadership and collaboration skills with strong business acumen Action orientation and proven ability to achieve results Excellent influencing skills and presence with all organizational levels Strong interpersonal skills w/ ability to interact with all functions both individually and team Extensive knowledge and experience in supply chain, operations and logistics with an emphasis on inventory and production planning Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills Strong computer literacy and excellent working knowledge of value chain planning software (ie. SAP, Oracle, I2 or Manugistics), business intelligence systems and Excel. Understanding and knowledge of consumer products industry/customers Solid decision making, collaborative management and conflict management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 10 years' experience in CPG with 5 years minimum in production planning, MRP and DRP. BS/BA in related discipline such as Engineering, Operations/Supply Chain Management required Strong financial and technical acumen Conceptual and practical Lean knowledge.
