The Assistant Director is a go-to, trusted resource responsible for annual, ad-hoc, and special project analyses. This role will support and partner with senior Strategic Planning & Operations staff and associated stakeholders to support financial and strategic initiatives for the Division of Philanthropy. Using thoughtful, original analyses, the Assistant Director will identify opportunities to improve operating performance across Business and Service Units. The Assistant Director will leverage their education and work experience to lead initiatives to streamline planning/reporting and drive efficiency initiatives. This role will continuously look for areas of improvement and implement automation in order to reduce manual work load to focus on delivering insights into the business. The successful candidate wants to make a big impact and will have a passion for providing data-based decision making.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises one Senior Financial Analyst. Reports to Director, Fiscal & Regulatory Management.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor s degree required, with a concentration in an analytical field, accounting/finance, or business administration and 4-7 years of relevant experience. Ability to work independently with superior verbal communication, organizational, and writing skills. Detailed-oriented, innovative thinker, analytical, a self-starter, and works well with a variety of personalities. Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required; knowledge of PeopleSoft financials and Tableau preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary along with a strong orientation to customer service. Must be comfortable presenting to large groups, as well as senior management. Superior organizational skills and ability to manage and juggle a variety of projects are also key, as is a directed and self-starting attitude with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Solid computer skills and advanced competency in Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint are necessary.
Workstation in typical office setting. Some evening or weekend work may be required.
