YOUR ROLE As a direct report to Genworth's Head of Portfolio Management, you will be responsible for the management of key business line portfolios, comprising a wide variety of asset types. The role requires a keen understanding of the liabilities along with deep knowledge of the goals and constraints of business line decision makers. You will be responsible for designing portfolios that meet business line goals and constraints within the boundaries of asset availability, risk management limits, regulatory limits and other corporate imperatives. Specifically, you will focus on managing the Life Insurance business investment portfolios. The role requires fixed income expertise, proficiency in asset allocation and ALM, creativity, problem solving, strong communication skills and attention to detail. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES ? Develop portfolio policy and guidelines with business partners ? Determine optimal long-term strategic asset allocations with focus on ALM, income and capital ? Develop medium term purchase strategies to meet asset allocation goals and make tactical adjustments in response to market developments ? Partner with trading and research to execute effectively on investment strategies ? Incorporate derivative strategies as needed ? Work with Risk team to stress test portfolios and manage within limits ? Manage portfolios to maintain compliance with investment guidelines ? Communicate strategies, actions and results with key business partners REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS ? Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Economics or related field ? 5-7 years of relevant experience, especially in long-duration liabilities such as long term care, life insurance or defined benefit pensions ? Strong Fixed income knowledge including bond math, spreadsheet skills and facility with systems ? Asset class expertise including credit, structured, private placements, commercial real estate, alternatives ? Deep knowledge of the portfolio management process for an insurance company or pension ? Direct experience in asset-liability management or portfolio management for long duration liabilities ? Strong quantitative skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ? MBA ? Chartered Financial Analyst ?
