Follows Policies/Procedures for infection control in the labs

Identify patient per policy; explain procedure and orient patient to surroundings

Demonstrates knowledge of Lawson; order and stock supplies as needed

Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with the computer systems and equipment in the procedural areas

Assists RN/MLP/MD with procedures; communicate any changes in patient's condition during procedure

Monitor and document patients vital signs throughout procedure

Safely escorts/transfer patient in and out of labs

Set up and break down labs for procedures

Demonstrate proper placement of all monitoring equipment on patient

Proficient at performing specimen \"Time Out\" and delivering specimens to lab

Properly perform manual hold of puncture site/apply radial artery compression device

Maintain all competencies inducing BLS and ACLS

Communicates effectively with co-workers and patients

Follows guidelines and policies for lead exposure


Education: Associates Degree/Cardiovascular Technology from an accredited program

Experience/Skills: Experience in a patient care setting; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to relate effectively to patients, families and staff; well groomed, professional appearance

Certifications: BLS & ACLS

Physical Demands: Requires heavy physical effort-sight and hearing must be with normal parameters
