EN-US\">Reporting to the Senior Vice President the Director is responsible for

leading the system-wide cardiovascular physician practice and cardiovascular

service line (CVSL). They will be

responsible for driving CVSL strategy and leading the collaborative

development and implementation of the operating plans within the Lifespan

Cardiovascular Institute (CVI). Responsible and accountable for managing the

cost quality and service within the CVI.

Develops annual and ongoing operational capital and programmatic

business plans consistent with the organization's mission and vision. Provides

an atmosphere conducive to team development and professional growth for associates

within the Lifespan Cardiovascular Institute (CVI). Demonstrates and promotes

Lifespan?s values service excellence behaviors and continuous

improvement. The directors of three

Responsibilities:

Works

in collaboration with the Chief of Cardiology/Physician Executive; Chief of

Cardiac Surgery; and Senior Vice President to develop goals for the Service

Lines.

Works

in coordination with the individual Hospital leaders and the Physician leaders

of cardiology and cardiac surgery to insure the goals of the CVSL are in

alignment of the hospitals and Lifespan.

Ensures

integration and coordination of systems and service initiatives across the

continuum and throughout areas of responsibility within the Lifespan

Cardiovascular Institute (CVI).

Identifies

and acts on growth opportunities program development and competitors.

Accountable

for the financial outcomes for areas of responsibility within the Lifespan

Cardiovascular Institute (CVI). Oversees the development and submission of

operating and capital budgets manages expenses in relation to the established

budget and monitors budget variances and implements corrective action when

necessary.

Ensures

compliance with all internal and external regulatory agency requirements.

Mobilizes

and distributes resources to implement business plans and achieve alliances to

ensure outcome.

With

management team promotes a work environment that fosters employee development

promotes self-directed teams and establishes communication processes.

Works

with physicians managers and clinical teams to continually improve quality

service and satisfaction.

Actively

works to builds relationships internally at the hospital at the outpatient practices

and externally in the community that positively promotes the goals and

objectives of the CVSL.

Recruit

hire terminate and discipline staff. Makes and approves personnel decisions

for the assigned Service Line. Completes and delivers performance appraisals to

Service Line managers directly reporting to him/her.

Works

with the Lifespan contracting department to stay abreast of current payer

trends and the potential impact to the CVSL.

Fulfills

all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Performs other duties as assigned

Other information:

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:

Masters? Degree in Business

or Healthcare Administration equivalent experience will be considered.

EXPERIENCE:

Requires a minimum of 7 years or more of

progressive experience in managing cardiovascular services and service line

administration preferably in a multi-hospital setting with medical practice

responsibility. Clinical experience and / or experience in clinical research are

highly preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Normal office

environment. Requires standing

bending and sitting. Enough visual

acuity and manual dexterity to use computer keyboard and other common office

equipment. Ability to lift boxes of

paper files and/or medical records.

Any hazards are minimized by adherence to established safety procedures

and precautions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Direct

supervisory responsibility for 9 FTEs of supervisors and managers and an excess

of 300 FTEs directly or indirectly.
