Meeting Street is the largest and longest established Early Intervention Provider in Rhode Island. We provide services to children aged birth to three years old with developmental disabilities or delays, giving them and their families individualized support and resources to enhance their development and learning.

We work with families and caregivers in their natural environment to assess their needs, build on their strengths and address their challenges. In collaboration with families, we develop a comprehensive plan to help them meet their goals and assist them in getting there. Our mission is to ensure that children are provided with every opportunity to develop to their fullest potential.

About this Role:

Our Mental Health Clinicians provide psychological support and services to families with infants or toddlers who are at risk for developmental delays. They assess the developmental and social emotional needs of clients through administering tests and assessment procedures within the context of the family, then implement intervention strategies within the family's routines and activities within their natural environment. They identify and access resources for the family, and provide intervention to address issues in a child and family's living situation that affect the child's maximum utilization of early intervention services.

Our Mental Health Clinicians implement individual and family group counseling with parents and other family members to provide skill-building activities for the child and caregiver. They manage a program of psychological services, counseling and consultation on child development and parent education for families. By addressing concerns in the child's growth and development, they provide resources and support so that they may develop to their fullest potential and participate functionally within their family.

We follow a coaching model to support parents and caregivers to understand their child's developmental needs, and implement individualized strategies to build upon their functional skills throughout their day.

Early Intervention employees independently manage a caseload, communicating and scheduling appointments directly with their families, and are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from appointments.
