**Role Description**



The Associate Director will be a key team member in the Risk Management, Compliance and Security (RMCS) service group for all activities pertaining to NERC Reliability Compliance. RMCS Associate Director activities include audit preparation, inherent risk assessments, internal controls evaluations, and overall Reliability Compliance Program development. RMCS Associate Director will be accountable for all Standards, including Operations and Planning and Critical Infrastructure Protection Standards.



More specifically, the Associate Director will ensure gap analyses, risk assessments, internal controls evaluations, audit preparatory sessions, training sessions, interviews, strategic management analyses, compliance benchmarking assessments, and advisory support pertaining to Reliability Compliance are conducted and completed successfully.



**Responsibilities**



+ Conduct risk assessments pertaining to the NERC Reliability Standards

+ Analyze processes and develop solutions for improvement pertaining NERC reliability compliance processes

+ Implement NERC compliance process improvements

+ Evaluate and develop internal controls for NERC reliability standards

+ Develop compliance strategies, processes and program designs

+ Conduct training sessions

+ Conduct audit preparatory sessions, both from a mock interview perspective and an audit readiness perspective, for the NERC standards

+ Advise Electric Utilities on all aspects pertaining to Reliability Compliance.

+ Communicate new compliance solutions and strategies to clients

+ Develop compliance solution offerings

+ Effective and efficient writing and communication skills; ability to draft senior level management reports.

+ Experience working as a management consultant in the electric utility industry

+ Works part of a team







+ Bachelor's in engineering, power systems, science, business and/or economics discipline; Profiles combining engineering and business disciplines preferred.

+ 8+ years electrical reliability compliance experience with emphasis in the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards relating to Physical and or Cyber Security.

+ 3-5 years consulting experience.

+ Demonstrated business development experience.

+ Direct working knowledge of the NERC Reliability Standards.

+ Strong Project Management skills.

+ Strong communications skills, including both written and verbal.

+ Strong critical analysis and problem-solving skills.

+ Highly developed organizational and management skills.

+ Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities without diminished effectiveness.

+ Travel Required.

**Preferred Qualifications:**



+ Master's in electrical or power systems engineering, science, business or energy related discipline and 6+ years electrical reliability compliance experience with emphasis in the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards relating to Physical and Cyber Security.

+ 3+ years management consulting

+ International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2)

+ Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

+ Business Resilience Certified Manager (BRCM)

+ Physical Security Professional (PSP)

+ Certified Protection Professional (CPP)

+ Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)







+ Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively

+ Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills

+ Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously

+ Self-motivator with ability to work independently

+ Plan, direct, and coordinate work activities of others

+ Frequently travels by airplane, train or car as necessary to perform work at another location
