Role Overview The Associate Director of Materials Management will lead a team of functional experts to develop and deploy standardized and optimized policies, processes, and tools across the Collins enterprise and its 6 strategic business units. This includes the processes of master scheduling, material planning, production control, and inventory management. The incumbent will also be required to work in conjunction with each of Collins Aerospaces 6 business units Materials Management, Engineering, Operations, SIOP, Demand, Program Office, Supply Chain, and Finance functional departments to create and align on optimized integrated business processes and policies. This position will work collaboratively with leadership at various levels of the organization (site level, SBU level, and enterprise level), as well as outside consulting firms, to facilitate the successful rollout of the materials management programs across Collins 140 manufacturing sites. The Associate Director of Materials Management will also leverage the ACE lean manufacturing methodology, APICS, Lean, and SAP to drive best in class Inventory Management processes. Primary Responsibilities: Lead a team of central functional experts in Materials Management focused on developing the Collins standards in master scheduling, material planning, production control, and inventory management across the enterprise. Train and support critical manufacturing on-site recoveries and materials boot camps across the enterprise. Help facilitate the Collins Aerospace Materials Management & SIOP Council which acts as the enterprise governance of materials management policy and tools. Lead and support on-site Lean Leadership weeks aimed at improving operational performance across the 140 manufacturing sites. Develop and grow central materials management team to meet the dynamic needs of the business. Act as an SME resource for all SAP and Materials management request from the Collins businesses. Develop long-term strategic roadmap for the future of Materials management with regard to systems, process, and people. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelors degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience Preferred Qualifications: 10 years of progressive experience in Materials Management (master scheduling, material planning, production control, and inventory management) in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated leadership experience, including cross-discipline collaboration Strong experience in developing and deploying enterprise-wide lean materials management strategies Very strong SAP working knowledge and experience Excellent communication skills with ability to influence in a matrixed organization. APICS Certified Six Sigma or Lean Certified Special Notes: Travel required up to 50% Candidate must be a US Person.
