Join Collins Aerospace to help us revolutionize the aerospace industry today Role Overview This position is for a senior professional with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise in IT Infrastructure issues who helps to manage IT infrastructure projects, document IT infrastructure issues, and guide the installation of software and hardware. Helps to assess infrastructure changes, conduct network interface planning, and develop new applications and hardware resource availability plans. Collins Aerospace utilizes Document Management tools in a global environment. Will need to support the current Collins Communications and Collaboration collection of document management applications. Specify design and implement Document Management software and its integration with other applications. Participate in Collins Collaboration Tools strategic projects. Select, blueprint, gather requirements, design, and roll out solutions to end users. Ensure our systems stay compliant with UTC policies, US and International laws. The Document Management Architect is also responsible for ensuring high levels of system availability through monitoring and in-depth testing. Execute IT projects that support UTC Aerospace Systems business objectives. The projects can include developing custom applications or implementing software solutions purchased from a third-party Application Service Providers. Projects typically involve working with UTC divisions. Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for acting with limited oversight to address somewhat complex activities involving the coordination of and planning for the Document Management area Manages small-scale DT document management projects. Develops reports for business unit or department leaders regarding the effectiveness of the current document program. Guides lower level professionals on the installation of operating systems, network and application software, and computer and network hardware; provides follow up technical assistance to the assigned area. Reviews cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses conducted by lower level staff that are used to make systems implementation decisions. Helps to analyze the potential impacts across systems/platforms/applications when introducing new and/or changing the current document program. Consults with system analysts to define and resolve somewhat complex systems programming and systems integration issues. Build and configure Document Management environments. Perform configuration changes as needed on production environment which are submitted through Help Desk tickets and service requests. Support and maintain existing installations of Documentum. Review and fix Documentum security as needed. Ensure knowledge transfer of best practices. Provide ongoing operation and maintenance activities including periodic software upgrades. Ensure technical architecture designs are compatible with the department's current / future standards and are supportable. Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for Documentum development in conjunction with end users, managers, clients, and other stakeholders. Direct, organize, and lead projects in the implementation and use of Documentum software tools and systems. Design, test, and document all modification of the Documentum environment. Analyze user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for Documentum. Conduct job duties and responsibilities according to the organization s business systems development methodology and/or its Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology. Also, familiar with the Agile methodology. Assist end-user training and training materials; provide technical support as necessary. Troubleshoot tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications as necessary. Remain abreast of trends in relevant software and technologies. As required, lead efforts to analyze and recommend solutions. Qualifications Basic Qualifications This position requires a Bachelor s degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience / knowledge the following technologies: Documentum 7.x, including DA, Webtop, xPlore, API/DQL queries D2 4.7 Development & Configuration, C2, and D2 Support of Captiva 7.5 Modules and Customization Microsoft .NET Software Development Linux Server Administration C#, VB .NET Windows Server Microsoft SQL Server Basics Oracle Basics 7 - 10 years direct work experience. Strong ability to install and configure a Documentum. Strong understanding of Documentum: theories, principles, and practices. Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities. Strong understanding of the organization s goals and objectives. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong presentation and interpersonal skills. Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
