Summary
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for working closely with and assisting the Human Resources Manager and providing administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Answers phones for the HR department
* Handles employment application intake
* Performs HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance
* Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures
* Assists with new-employee orientations
* Maintains confidential personnel files and personnel actions
* Prepares job postings
* Responds to reference checks and verifications of employment status
* Assists the manager with HR projects
* Assists with benefits administration
* Opening and sorting HR department mail
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience
B.S degree in business administration preferred.
Minimum of one-year office/clerical support experience, preferably in a HR environment.

Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
Excellent organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Word and Excel. Experience with ADP or HRIS software payroll systems desirable. Experience with databases and database reporting is required.
