* Diagnose, test, troubleshoot and repair assigned biomedical devices, equipment and systems to component level. Repairs, calibrates, and performs preventive maintenance of assigned direct and indirect patient-care-related electronic instrumentation / systems as assigned. * Works pertinent test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, etc. to assure optimal functioning of all devices, equipment and systems. * Utilizes schematics, technical drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals as needed. * Conducts periodic and routine preventive maintenance inspections on all appropriate direct and indirect patient-care-related electronic instrumentation / systems. * Prepares and maintains records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance using established systems. * Assists in needs assessment, product selection, purchase justification review and installation of biomedical capital equipment purchases by the hospital. * Performs additional support tasks (e.g. order parts, maintain service manuals, catalogs, mandatory training program, etc.). * Effectively communicates with product manufacturers as needed to assure optimal operations of all assigned devices, equipment and systems. * Maintains knowledge of advances in the biomedical engineering field and equipment changes within the hospital. * Participates in after-hours call coverage including the periodic need to provide on-site support during off hours. * Serves as the resident expert in support of biomedical services and interacts routinely with hospital leaders, staff, and end- users. * Additional duties as assigned
* Minimum 5-8 years of experience working with biomedical devices, equipment and systems. Experience in a hospital/healthcare environment preferred. * Working knowledge of computer applications used for asset management, tracking service histories and producing reports as requested. * Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain focus with intermittent distractions * Ability to remain flexible and respond to changing priorities while remaining focused on results * Excellent trouble-shooting skills. * Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication.
* Vocational or Technical training required. * Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology, military training or equivalent experience
