The Office of the Provost is the central academic administrative office responsible for providing University oversight and guidance related to the academic mission, programming, policy, and resource allocation and fiscal management. The Director reports to the Vice Provost for Academic Planning and Administration and is a key leader in financial planning and the effective management of resources for the academic enterprise. The Director works closely with the Associate Provost for Institutional Research, Data Analysis and Planning and the Director of Academic Operations and Planning in order to provide a holistic fiscal strategy and plan for the effective allocation, and use of funding in the academic areas of the University. Responsibilities ?Serve as a key leader working with the Office of Finance and Business in the planning, development, and implementation of a university-wide budget model and budget process that recognizes the campus mission, vision and strategic priorities as well as the University s reliance on a tuition-driven budget model. ?In collaboration with the Director for Academic Operations and Planning, identify and analyze financial and space factors to ensure planning for the support of academic initiatives is effective and uses human, space, and financial resources efficiently. ?Lead efforts for the development of financial strategies and alternative financial models that address academic priorities in alignment with the University s Strategic Plan. ?Develop a revised business plan model for new programs and program modifications that allows for a comprehensive assessment of the financial viability. Develop a methodology for on-going monitoring and assessment of programs on an annual basis. ?Partner with the Office of Institutional Research to improve our current fiscal, human resources (Workday), and academic (Banner) data systems to appropriately account for the cost of academic programs. ?Partner with the Office of Finance and Business to develop uniform revenue and expense statements for all University Centers, Institutes, and other academic entities and provide an annual detailed analysis of performance. ?In collaboration with key stakeholders across the University, assist in the development of new academic goals and direction for the institution by providing fiscal analyses of proposed initiatives. ?Work closely with the Vice Provost, Office of Institutional Research, Director of Academic Operations and Planning, and the Office of Strategic Enrollment Management to establish a multi-year, comprehensive enrollment strategy, including systematic reporting of enrollment and net tuition revenue (NTR) actual to targets. While working collaboratively, ensure that the comprehensive enrollment strategy be based on institutional academic priorities, and include the most effective use of financial aid. ?Work closely with the Vice Provost on other ad hoc financial analysis and models. Minimum Qualifications: ?8-10 years progressive project management responsibilities preferably in higher education ?Masters degree, or equivalent experience in the quantitative field ?At least 5 years experience in financial analysis and building business models ?Proven experience using appropriate database tools and software for data extraction and appropriate statistical packages for data analysis ?Excellent communication skills and a customer service orientation Preferred Qualifications: ?Data visualization skills ?Experience using Workday and Ellucian Banner ?Financial experience in a not-for-profit, private, higher education environment
